Circularia is a crowd funding web application designed with concepts borrowed from ROSCA/RSG.
Circularia is about circles of maximum 365 members with flexible duration (maximum 1 year) and time frame (daily, weekly, monthly).
Circle members are trusted persons from the real and virtual world (family, work, community, friends, social network peers). Circularia users can be members in multiple circles.
Circles are private and totally opaque to external world. Circularia is not a social tool/network. To join a Circularia circle you have to be referred by existing users.
The entire responsibility/risk management of a circle relies solely on its founder and fellow members.
A PayPal account is required upon sign-up. By using PayPal, circles have a limit for transactions of 500 units (representing money currency). Only USD are accepted at this point.
The Circularia crowd funding scheme is a two-way financing scheme based on standardized parameters accepted by all participants (amount, duration/lifetime, time frame). All the members are equally funded once during a circle’s lifetime.
Purpose of crowd funding depends on users needs and is defined by themselves – you are free to do whatever you want with the resources provided. Though circle founder can decide on initial parameters.
The system is interest free, the installments payed between members are equal.
Circularia randomly picks a member towards whom all the other members have to send the preset amount using the PayPal service. System takes care of notifications and picks, and opens/closes payment frames. Picks repeat the same work-flow until every circle member is consumed.
Circle wall handles all payment, pick and other activities notifications and is visible to all the members.
Circularia users activity and invitations are handled entirely by the system. Connections between users should mainly reflect real life trust, although at least two existing users can bring another person into their network. This way it’s all about trust & credit worthiness between the circle members. Minimum risk management is provided by the system using the invitations mechanism.
